Doreen E. Barrett, Ph.D.

Dr. Doreen E. Barrett is currently Assistant Principal at George W. Collins High School in Chicago, Illinois. Dr. Barrett has held positions in the academic and business arenas. She was an experienced manager with Accenture working in the Organization and Human Performance competency. She was Director of Undergraduate Programs at DePaul University, in the School of Education, and Professor of Educational Technology, teaching graduate level courses. Prior to DePaul, Doreen contracted as a consultant working with a Midwestern school district as Director of Instructional Technology. She is currently the National Treasurer for NABSE.

Her other experiences include:

  • working on a development team with Kansas State University designing and producing interactive multi-media training for all social workers in the state of Kansas,
  • working with the Technology Department of the 1996 Democratic National Convention Committee as the Software Support Specialist, where she was responsible for planning, designing, and implementing application training modules for DNCC staff, White House staff and volunteers.
  • Working with Computer Curriculum Corporation (Interactive instructional software company), as a Consultant, Sales Representative and then Area Manager.

Doreen is a life member of NABSE and has attended every NABSE National Conference since joining in 1985.

She is an active member of her church- Messiah St. Bartholomew Episcopal Church, has a grown son, one grandson, and enjoys reading, roller skating, and working to complete a mystery novel.
