Dr. Jawanza Kunjufu
Biographical Sketch

Dr. Jawanza Kunjufu Dr. Jawanza Kunjufu, whose name means dependable and cheerful, was educated at Morgan State, Towson, Illinois State and Union Graduate School. He has been guest speaker at most colleges and universities throughout the U.S., and has been a Consultant to most urban school districts. He has preached in numerous churches and taught seminary for 8 years to doctoral students at Union Theological Seminary. He has authored over 25 books including national best sellers, Countering the Conspiracy to Destroy Black Boys; Black Students: Middle Class Teachers; Satan, I'm Taking Back My Health; State of Emergency: We Must Save African American Males; Solutions for Black America; Keeping Black Boys Out of Special Education; Black Students-Middle Class Teachers, Developing Strong Black Male Ministries, An African Centered Response to Ruby Payne's Poverty Theory; A Culture of Respect, and his latest title, Raising Black Boys. His work has been featured in Ebony and Essence Magazine; and he has been a guest on BET and Oprah.

Dr. Kunjufu is a proud husband, father, and grandfather. He's also a vegetarian and an avid tennis player and has not missed a day's work in over 33 years.
