Carrol A. Thomas, Ed.D.

With almost 40 years of experience in the field of education, Carrol Thomas is a veteran academic leader whose career includes five years as a teacher, 14 years as a school administrator and nearly two decades as a superintendent. A noted author and speaker, he is also president-elect of the nation's premier organization of African American educators. Awards and honors include teacher of the year, principal of the year and superintendent of the year. He is at the helm of one of the most successful urban school districts in Texas. This district is financially and academically sound with an annual budget exceeding $200 million and academic ratings yielding several exemplary and recognized schools.
